When were you there? We got there the 28th, and got home the 6th.

We usually stay at the Renaissance Downtown(marina/adult hotel). Love the private island, but w/no car it sucks to be downtown for more than 5 days.

If you can, always book a sunset snorkel trip with these guys. LINK

This past time we went, the one guy took us to an area and was able to watch sea turtles eating moss off the bottom of the ocean. I also found and picked up a big starfish.

Any questions, about the place, shoot, 3rd time for us.

If you plan on staying longer than 5 days, stay in High rise area. Food is expensive, because they have to import 98% of all their goods.

I have been about 5 times. It is nice because the weather is consistant, no hurricanes, it is clean, has a high standard of living, and you go though US Customs and Immigration at the Aruba Airport.

I don't find it any more expensive than tourist areas in US or Europe.

It is more expensive than tourist areas in Mexico, but in Aruba you dont have to worry about getting sick from the food.

Nice place to visit.

Just a short jump to the shithole otherwise known as Venezuela.

Long plane flight from the Mainland US, for the same travel time I'd probably rather Barbados, but if one has never been to Aruba, go at least once.

Weirdly arid climate there. Cacti, deserts, and beaches.

The locals are nice, they all (generally) speak three or four different languages.

Meh, not into islands where people beg , or you have to stay on or near resorts cause the island is a crime ridden shite hole(bermuda, jamaica, bahamas, mexico, etc)

When it comes to Caribbean, Aruba is the exception to this.

We stayed from the 24th thru the 29th. We stayed at Barcelo and we loved it! Ate at Fishes & More and also Madame Janette's. We booked a catamaran snorkel trip thru Aruba Watersports (right on the beach in front of our hotel) and had a great time. Next time I go I want to explore more of the island, though. This was our first time to do an all-inclusive so we stayed in/around the resort for the most part all week.

Leave the resort areas and it's just as dumpy as any other Caribbean island where the locals live. I went last year and stayed away from the tourist area in Savaneta. Had a great time but somebody shouldn't get their hopes up thinking the whole island is an sparkling immaculate paradise.

Rent a jeep, drive all over. Hit up the California light house and the nearby sand dunes, drive down to Baby Beach, drive up to the natural pool if you're brave enough, drive around Arikok national park.

Rent a vehicle

If you want to go off roading, do one of the atv dealios, where you can drive the shite out of their vehicle.

Also, I forgot to add: visit the Aruhiba cigar shop. They grow and roll their own cigars there. I drove up and it looked vacant, but there were like 3 people in there quietly rolling up cigars. Buy some rum and smoke a fresh one

rent a car. even if its a small cheap one. The island is drivable and we would have not had as much fun as we did if we didnt have a car.

drive to the different beaches. Baby beach, arashi beach, and mangel halto were our favorites. Palm beach was ok, but you're really exposed to the trade wind there. Had a decent lunch at a food truck there. Speaking of food, There's a restaurant on Baby beach with ok food & drinks. Bring some white bread and googles and feed the fish.

if you're looking for a nice meal, The Flying Fishbone is a good spot. romantic, good service, right on the water. make reservations

drive out to the Palo Alto chapel. It backs up to some gorgeous rock cliffs and roaring ocean. Really is majestic coming from flat louisiana. We drove out around sunset and only a few people were there, but apparently its popular during the daylight hours

We didnt do any tours or anything. Were trying to stay away from the touristy things. We stayed in an AirBNB away from downtown. Traveling into downtown was a pain the arse with traffic. Fat american tourist everywhere. I think maybe a cruise ship had just docked, but it was a mess, so be forewarned.

If you are looking for cocaine or ecstasy, Max is usually hanging around the beach at sunset near the Marriott in Palm Beach. He will approach you. Great prices and quality.

If you are looking for senoritas, San Nicolas on the south end of the island is the spot, near the Charlie's Bar. There are a half dozen bars where you pick a girl and get a room for cheap. Girls from Colombia and Venezuela come over on 6 month "internships" and it is highly regulated so they are probably safer than a girl you meet in the quad. Given the current state of Venezuela's economy, I'd imagine the talent is better than ever.

Seriously, next time you go, try to book a sunset snorkeling trip with black pearl. They book months in advance, so as soon as you book ur trip, try to book a cruise. They have been booked 6 months in advanced before.

Captain is super cool, no loud music, no drunks, no children.

And on second snorkel site, one of the guys will take you to a spot where you can watch sea turtles swim and eat on the moss on the rocks n stuff. It was cool, i also picked up a huge starfish, at first i was kind of a puss, i wasn't sure if the bigger ones had any stinging devices, so i kind of just looked at it, then finally grabbed it so everyone could hold and look at on the boat.

I'll post some pics from out sept 28th thru oct6 trip

We kind of were ready to come home, since we stayed downtown for the private island, we didnt have a car, and got bored. Next time well get a rental.

Here are 2 videos i took with a $200 fujifilm camera i bought. Didnt expect great video for $200, but it was good enough.

I couldn't get real close to the seaturtle, when you got 2 close, they bolted, so it's not great.

Crime is up 20% in Aruba because of these Shitheads. They are the dirtbag Countries of South America.

Cabbie was telling me all about the immigrants they have taken in for cheap labor, and crime has skyrocketed, and it's the same ones, Colombians and Venezuelans being arrested.
