Last minute trip, going to be in Fairbanks March 3-10th to see some friends.
Going to see the Iditarod. Chena Hot Springs. Probably go predator hunting and ride snowmobiles out in the mountains. Any other suggestions?
Probably won't travel around too much, doubt I'll even have time to venture down to Anchorage. Looking my got suggestions around the Fairbanks area.

You should be able to see the northern lights every night, but right now, the first few nights have the strongest forecast.

It will still be winter, so try to do some snowmachining. Maybe take a flight up to the Brooks Range, it's spectacular. Ice sculpting championships, sled dog sprint races, festival of native arts, etc. lots of outdoor stuff in March because it's warming and longer days. Chena Hot Springs is awesome

Know anywhere to rent snowmachines for a day or two in the Fairbanks area? Any places you'd recommend to ride?

Not sure of rentals but the White Mts north of town are great .
Chena Hot Springs has guided snow machine tours. They also have dog sledding I believe. You could spend a few days there easily.
