Traveling to Norway this summer and I plan to spend about 4 days in Bergen. Aside from hiking and paying an outrageous amount of money for a guided tour of the Fjords via boat...is there any recommendations for "adventure" activities that are relatively affordable and off the beaten path?

Thanks in advance!

Went this past July. Took boat into Bergen through Fjord. Was fantastic. Bergen rains all the time. Even in July it was quite cold and wet. Great places to eat on water.

4 days is a long time in Bergen. We spent 2 nights and that was plenty. There are hiking trails at the top of the funicular. There is a kids playground up there too.

I visited about 10 years ago. It was a beautiful day and only rained briefly (as we were warned that it rains pretty much every day). We took that tram (?) up to the top of the mountain for the scenic view.

We were only there for a day as it was a business trip with the rest of the time spent in Oslo, Stavanger, and Stord.

I agree 4 days is a lot there. You can take a train from Bergen to Geilo it is about 3 hours. Geilo is a ski town but there is a national park there above the tree line with a path to the mountain top. The steps of the path were set by Sherpa that lived there for like 2 years hauling and setting these massive stones up the mountain.
We took a flight from Bergen to back to Oslo. Only 1.5 hour flight. Bergen airport had tighter security than Oslo.

Spent 2 days there, rained and cold the whole time. Very unique and cool town, liked it a lot. However, adventure activities were difficult to come by because of the conditions
