12 Hours Free in San Francisco - What Are Must See and Do's?

I know this location has been beaten to death but i will be in San Francisco for 2 days on 1/31 and 2/1 for a job interview. I land at 9am on 1/31 and the rest of the day is mind. What are some must see and do's if you only have 12 hours to sight see in San Francisco?
I was planning on doing the night tour at Alcatraz but know it's time consuming. The Bay area offers so many options so i'm looking for the best recommendations.

Well if you don't do Alcatraz then just go do the other touristy things like Coit Tower, crooked street, drive/walk over the Golden Gate, etc. If the weather is nice (probably won't be 
) it's such a beautiful city to just explore around walking. Go eat lunch or dinner Columbus area with all the good Italian restaurants and get some gelato after. There's some really nice parks and museums as well.
