Is flippin terrible. I am in an apt complex and have their internet with their wireless router and has to be the biggest piece of garbage out there. Tech guy came out and all he said was "well there are a lot of wireless routers that throw interference and could be messing with your internet".

Anyone know any truth to this or a fix to this??

Its cable sooo chances are during peak hours esp in an apt complex you are fricked on speeds.

Ditch their router and buy your own. Only use their modem. frick their combo shite.

Yup....it wouldn't connect to more than three or four devices at a time and was slow as shite. Bought a 30$ router and boom problem solved.....now I gotta go call and beat em down on price tho

You can improve your experience by getting your own router and cable modem.

So, if I just got this email from comcast yesterday, I should ignore it? My wife's all worried.

What’s happening? Your current Digital Internet and Voice modem is no longer capable of supporting the speeds of your Xfinity Internet Service. To get the most out of your service, we need to replace your existing device with a Wireless Gateway, which we will do at no additional cost.

Yes.

I noticed at my house that I have the option to connect with my secure wireless network or an open Xfinity wireless network. Presumably this is a network created by my neighbors who use their Wireless Gateway bullshite. Ain't nobody siphoning off my bandwidth.

Xfinity wanting their wireless network to expand is what I was thinking. Our current setup is plenty fast. Why mess with it? Nobody needs to be "borrowing" my bandwidth.
