Windows 10 Auto Update

Where the frick did all my files go?
I had them for 2 days after the update. I was able to find the folders and I put them on the desktop.
Open computer this morning, the folder is gone. All files are gone. When I go to a microsoft program and open a recent document it tells me it is unable to open the file.
Someone please help.
I feel like a box turtle on its back!
