wifi help in gonzales area

I installed a new cox modem and the service seems worse - I even purchased a wifi extender with not much help. anyway - I need suggestions on just getting someone to look at the crap. suggestions are appreciated. TIA

Cox modems suck ask them to send tech with different kind of modem
