She works at a small clinic. They are still using MS Office 2003. I'm fairly certain that they aren't running Windows 7 which is a requirement for Office 2013. I think Office 365 is not needed, unless someone can show me otherwise. It looks like Office 2010 is what would be needed. I have a copy of it, but don't know if I'm allowed to load it up on all of their computers without purchasing more key codes. Definitely don't want to get the business in trouble with unauthorized software.

If this means they are still running Windows XP, then they need to get to 7 or 8.1

XP is no longer supported by Microsoft which means it will become more and more vuilnerable. They need to bite the bullet and get with the times.

You can not legally do this. You can't even buy Office 2010 any more.

I would go Office 365 Business Premium in a second for a small business. It covers Microsoft Office and your email for $150/yr per PC and you never have to worry about buying licenses again.

Thx. I forgot about XP no longer being supported. Maybe they are on Win 7. Why would you go Office 365 over Office 2013? Trying to find the most cost efficient way to do this.

I would do it because it takes care of your email and you Office in one shot.

Each user gets 50GB of email and 1TB of online storage along with instant messaging.

You get support and you don't have to maintain anything.

You never have to wonder if you have your licensing straight.

Don't listen to all the hate for Windows 8.1 either.

Install Classic Shell (Free) and you get back the start menu. Windows 8.1 is rock solid.

Check out Open Office. Works great in a small business environment. Just doesn't have an Outlook equivalent, but does everything else that most people use: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.

O365 might be worth it..how is their e-mail hosted right now? Do they have an on-premise exchange setup? Or something else?

Their email is handled by the company that does their website. I'm going there sometime this week to take a look and get a better idea. They are running Win 7 on all the computers. They only need office on about 4 computers.

Search on Discount Mountain Software. Check out their Office listings and you'll see multiple copy info to help make your decision. I'd lean towards 2013 professional.
