I use zenmate on chrome. Works great but you are limited to the locations that you can printed to be from.

Guarantee you every "free VPN" is selling your data. They have to make money somehow.

I know you made it clear that you wanted free, but free VPNs are not ever really a good way to go. Your data, as already mentioned, becomes theirs to sell. I tried out a free trial VyprVPN last year, and it was absolutely excellent. I ended up getting a month at reduced prices. A solid paid VPN that'll maintain your speeds and privacy at a decent price is really the only way to go. Tunnelbear is the only free VPN that I personally would vouch for because I've interacted with some of their developers personally, and they always make any vulnerability or issue very clear and explain it to their users without much sugar coating.

I upgraded to the paid version and it wasn't that much. I think like 20.00 for a year as well.

Yes Zenmate free version has limited location but works good.
