Just got a Netgear Nighthawk. Really impressed...I think this thing would put a signal through a foot thick lead wall.

If you have full signal with cabinet closed and then you go in your room and lose signal, it seems that it is not strong enough to go through the wall of your room.

Not sure why people are blaming it on the cabinet when you have full signal with it closed.

I recently flashed my router with DD-WRT and increased my signal strength. If you did this though, you would probably need better air circulation.


ETA:

Going to 5GHz may reduce interference, but it will also not travel as far as 2.4GHz.

I would like to hear the results when he takes it out of the cabinet and puts it up higher. Then we can address the walls.
