Well that sucks. Need tv connecting help.

Go get a samsung tv today at Best Buy. I'm hooking it up.
My direct tv will not connect to it. I have an older box that has the old cable, the kindn you screw in and has a metal pin sticking out.
There is one female end on the back of the tv BUT it will not go in far in enough to start screwing the cable onto the tv. Manual says connect cable box through HDMI cable. Um, the direct tv box has no hdmi cable.
what to do?

You are talking about coax. That is the line coming into the box

Just got off the phone with directtv. Got the box back in 05. along with tv. They are coming out monday with HDTV box and dish. Said I should be good to go when they leave.

please tell me you're a fricking woman or little girl...so turn to TR instead of direct tv? you know they have a support line you can call and talk to someone...
