Time to replace Iphone 5 battery?

I've had my Iphone 5 since November 2012. Now, I know Iphones aren't known for their stellar battery life, but at this point, after having my phone for 2 1/2 years, I find my battery loses charge at a ridiculous rate. Should I go ahead and replace my battery now? Would it be safe to say the battery is officially worn out at this point?

Apple has a free battery replacement program for some iPhone 5 phone models which had an issue with the battery. Just go to an Apple store and they will probably give you a free battery under this program even if your battery is just worn out.
Last year I went in ready to pay $69 or whatever it was to get a new battery on my 5 and the guy said he will just give it to me for free under the program even if my battery had just worn out. He went it then came back out after 10 mins and said when the technician opened the phone, they found the battery to be a little loose and the glue had come undone. He said Apple considers it a safety issue and that he wanted to just give me a new phone. They are nice that way. I said fine. I went in looking to pay to get my battery replaced, but ended up walking out with a new phone for free.

They are pretty easy to replace as long as you're being careful. If your screen is cracked in anyway I wouldn't suggest replacing it yourself.

An apple certified repair place will do it for free if your phone's serial number is on the list, which I'm guessing it is.
If you are fairly competent, you can do it yourself with a $20 battery and kit off Amazon.
It's not difficult with a 5 or below. Gets more tricky if it is a 5s due to the wire for fingerprints.
