Starting to think about getting a new laptop. I see these 2-in-1 laptops that are about $150 more than I'd pay for a regular laptop. I definitely want a laptop instead of a full-on tablet, but I like the idea of the 2-in-1s because I often lie on the couch and in bed using the computer. Are they worthwhile at the $450 price point, or should I just stick with a regular laptop?

What is your budget for the new laptop? What do you use it for?

The SP4 is a great choice for many. I want the Surface Book but my laptop is still relatively new so I'll get it later. Hopefully the prices get a little better too as you have to spend $1,800 to get a high spec one.

Dell has some nice 2:1's but again it depends on your budget and usage.

ETA: I just got the iPad Air 2 as I sold my iPad 4 recently and I like having something on the couch.

I just ordered an Acer Switch 11v from Costco. It had a $160 rebate to knock it down to $300. I figured that's a pretty solid deal for a 2 in 1 with 4gbs and a 128g solid state drive. I wanted something to stream stuff from Kodi besides my phone, and I figured if I'm going to pay $100-$150 for a new media player, why not spend a few extra on a cheap laptop/tablet that will give me more functionality. I'll give an update in a few days.
