Text messages slow to send on Galaxy Note 3 (Verizon service)

So this happened on my last phone after awhile (Galaxy note 2). Never had any issues sending texts, but after a year of owning this phone my texts are taking forever to send. That loading/sending circle keeps rotating for awhile up to 2-3 minutes before sending. What gives? Is this a reception/signal error? Or is it a software operating system error? Any no brainer remedies? Its been going on for about a month now.

I had these issues on my S5 after the lollipop update. Everything lagged and the phone ran hot and drained quickly. I switched back to Kit Kat and all is good again.

Mine is fine. Maybe try deleting all of your old texts. I believe there is a limit, and the phone had to delete old ones as you send new ones
