I was on a business plan so didnt have to worry about personal plans but now I need to move to a personal plan and will have to add my wife.

Can anyone please suggest a good Talk, Text and Data plan. My budget is 40-50 dollars a month

Is it possible to get a free phone with the plan? (back in the days I remember getting free phones)

T-Mobile unlimited talk, text, and data at forty a month. 2 GB before they throttle back though.

For that price you can forget the major carriers. You'll need to look at using one of the Wireless Resellers like Straight Talk from Walmart or Cricket. Looking at the Cricket Plans you could get 2 lines with 1GB of data a month each for $50 (2 $30 plans with a $10 credit for a 2nd line). LINK

Gonna be tough to get any decent data plan for 2 people on $50/month.

T-mobile is $70/month according to their website.

Maybe that's the 2-person plan. I didn't see that's what OP was looking for.

I found it. The $40/month is their pre-paid plan for up to 3 GB data, and the other plan is $70/month and is unlimited with streaming and all that hooplah. I was curious because my wife has to get a new line. Looks like she is going to get the prepaid plan and like it.

I've been using the prepaid, 40/month plan for about a year and never had any issues. Had reception throughout the entire flood ordeal. 3GB lasts me just fine too, but I mainly use wifi and when I'm not I'm just on this site for the most part.

I've used Cricket for the past year and haven't had any complaints.
