I am looking for a speaker for tailgating for next season. I am basically looking for the most power/best sound I can get in a bluetooth enabled, wireless speaker. I would prefer that it be battery powered but if it requires a power cord that wouldn't be a deal breaker. What would the good men and women of the tech board suggest?

I know its not exactly what you asking for but I have one of these and it works pretty well, they may have Bluetooth options that may be higher priced. Outdoor Speaker

1. go to ebay
2. search for alesis transactive bluetooth pa speaker
3. profit??

my buddy has one we take everywhere... boat, beach, river.. outside on porch.
-loud as fuk
-bluetooth
-battery powered
-usb ports on it to charge your iphone
-has wheels
-only $150-200

your welcome

eta- also it has a port to plug in a microphone... this comes in handy when you are drunk at a tailgate or on the river and want to holler at passing hoes, or do some karaoke

This is the kind of speaker I am looking for. Are there any others that yall have used that I should look at to compare?

i thought this was what you wanted! and naw not personally, i know of 3 people with these and they work flawless. Plug into the wall at night and charge and it will last a good 8hrs at constant playing.

I actually think my friend has that exact one. I've heard it used twice. I was shocked at how loud it was and how great it worked.

We have the Ion Tailgater. Just used it the past 2 weeks for Mardi Gras. For $150 you can't really beat it.

Why do tailgates need microphones and people who use them?

They don't. In fact, they should be fricking banned from game day.

I don't need a microphone, just something that plays loud, clear music.

I have used the ion tailgater for a couple years now. it's pretty awesome and the battery lasts a long damn time.
This season coming i'm upgrading to a bigger system so the tailgater will get even more play for at home use.

The Ion tailgate speaker is amazing. It sounds really good as long as you don't have your phone on full volume. Put your phone on two clicks from loudest and turn up the speaker. It gets really loud.

The gamechanger is you can charge your phone thru it also. Really awesome on gamedays. It can bluetooth, but it can also charge or be plugged in to conserve phone battery.

There was a day where I played music for at least 200 people at the cottages pool and they could all hear it great. It is loud and sounds great as long as you don't have the phone volume on full blast. Let the speaker do the work.

I bought it for baseball tailgates, but I have utilized it in so many ways I cannot begin to tell you. Shoot, I use it in my bathroom when I shower, to charge my phone when there's no plug around, outside on my porch, etc. Battery life last way over 30 hours.
