So, the charger to my surface pro shorted out nearly burning down my house last night. Less than a year old, this should be under the hardware warranty, correct?

Can I just go back to best buy and they swap it out, or do I have to go through Microsoft?

I want to get this done quick, as I now have no way to use my Surface....

My charger stopped working and I brought it to best buy and they replaced it free. However, they had to send one to my house. They wouldn't give it to me in store.

I was afraid of that. Can't go without a tablet for a few days, but I guess I don't have a choice

Wife just had to replace her charger through Microsoft. It arrived within 2 days. They just sent the charger. I don't even think she needs to send the old one back.

I'm in the market to pre-order a SP3. Do you have a SP1/2? Is the charger wire all mangled or something? Got me kinda worried.

I bought a new charger on Friday, I had lost my other.

You can buy the 24 watt one instead of the 48w...It works, just takes longer to charge. It was $40 instead of the $78 for the 48W.

Not sure of the warranty. If it is thru Geek squad, I think its replaced on site.
