OK, so I've had this system (BDV-N790W) for about 2 years. Never used to have a problem with it at all. Then probably 6 or so months ago I started having static/white noise problems. I had my cable going through the HDMI input of the receiver, which was fine, but I would occasionally unplug the other end from the cable box and plug it into my computer to stream stuff. It would work fine, then very suddenly, it would blast white noise sound at full volume and scare the crap out of anyone in the room. It would not stop unless you either turn the system off, unplug it, etc. When you plug it back in it would work fine again for another 20-30 minutes, then blast the noise again.

Anyway, the problem described above would only happen when switching to my laptop, and it would be fine with the cable. I assumed maybe there was something wrong with the HDMI dongle for the laptop and just ignored it. Now I have moved and I just set it up in my new room and now basically anything that plugs into the HDMI inputs (cable, game system, etc.) will have this problem (works fine, then random white noise blast). There doesn't seem to be an issue when using the receiver just to play DVDs, but as soon as I'm using another device that is going through the HDMI inputs, Boom. It is unbearable.

Anybody else have this issue? I have tried switching HDMI cords, I have reset the receiver to factory default, I have changed which outlet it's plugged into, messed around with different audio settings, and nothing. Is the receiver just crap? Can I just keep my speakers and get another 5.1 receiver for reasonably cheap? FYI, I have a Samsung TV, an Xbox One, and a DirecTV box I'm using.
