Static pop sound when changing channels

I have a loud static "pop" sound when I change channels or on Netflix when I hit play after it is paused or a new episode starts.
I have it hooked up to a soundbar using an Aux cord but it does the same thing through the tv speakers if I unplug it.
Anyone heard of this or know what could be causing it?

It's a common YMMV problem often with no solution, unfortunately. The audio signal gets briefly interrupted, and devices vary in how gracefully they handle it. The only time I was to able to solve it was when I switched a cable box to output 1080i at all times instead of whatever resolution the channel used. The Sony TV really hated the cable box switching between 720p, 1080i, 480i, etc.
