Any tips on how to speed up and improve the performance of my Nexus 7 (2012)? Ever since updating to Lollipop, I have noticed increased lag and overall bad performance. I performed a factory reset and cleared everything last night in order to start fresh. I also cleared the cache. A little better but still lagging a good bit. I ended up rooting it again bc its pretty boring without root access. Any other ideas/tips.

I believe that 5.0.2 was supposed to help 2012 Nexus 7's. Have you installed it yet?

Is this referring to the update cache that is hidden? I know removing all that sped my wifes tablet up a lot.

this was true for N5. i flashed it to lollipop then there was a recommendation to then do a factory reset 'just in case' due to some issues with memory being lost and the phone being slow.

it wouldnt hurt.
