Speaker problems on my LenovoPro

I can no longer get sound from my laptop. It was working fine until I plugged an auxiliary cord into it then took it out. No I can't get any sound from my laptop. When I plug in speakers to it, you just get static from the laptop. Can anyone help or recommend anything? I have only had it for 7 months.

did you try to r clik on the speaker?
then clik playback devices?
something is likely muted or disabled

I have tried everything. Nothing, to my knowledge, is muted or disabled.

what operating system?
did you right click on the sound icon and hit troubleshoot problems?
i would probably remove and reinstall the sound driver just for good measure

Lenovo technical support number 800-426-7378
Not sure their hours. They may help if you are under warranty, which if you haven't had a year you should be. I have a 3 year warranty with my Lenovo, but it came with my purchase.
Have you tried restarting your computer? I know silly, but might as well try it all..

please tell me what OS you have though

Lenovo's are very strange.. so like even if the OS shows you have unmuted, you still may need to phsyically press a button. I had to do this when my screen would not switch into tablet or tent mode.
So look for a mute button on the keyboard to hit.. you may have to hit fn button along with it.. I don't know how it is configured.. but trying pressing that..
Try pressing every key on your keyboard if that doesn't work.. and every button along your laptop

another suggested work around is this
Select the Multistream mode from Realtek control panel, Device advanced settings
^ this has had huge success. not sure if this is on your model.
if this doesn't work then go to lenovo's website and support.. let it identify your computer and get the support and updates programs available.

you may just have a bad jack.. and they should service that and fix it if that is the case..
also if you had say ubuntu on a disc drive you could load with your computer to test to see if audio is fine on it.. then you will know it's a windows operating system issue.. or driver for it.. or some weird windows update.
not sure. i still say look on your keyboard for an unmute option of some sort.

I have rebooted, uninstalled/installed Realtek, turned up and down the volume, troubleshooted, and nothing is working. The computer came with Windows 8, but I just recently installed Windows 10. The problem I am having is with the speakers from the laptop. The problem began before I installed Windows 10.

you upgraded!
apparently your machine don't like the upgrade
likely mfrs not up to speed with drivers
do without or downgrade til the upgrade fully catches up
good luck

did you go to lenovo website for upgraded drivers?
Posted on 8/21/15 at 12:59 pm to Large Farva
dang the problem was prior to the upgrade?
have your pressed every single button on your keyboard? haha
try to get with technical support then because they will work with you on that.
they won't work if it happened after the update though. then they blame microsoft and you have to go through them.
you may just have faulty hardware

Spent an hour and a half last night with a Lenovo tech. I granted him access to my computer and the conclusion was that Windows 10 does not support my speaker or CD drive yet. so, I went back to windows 8 and speakers still don't work. I guess I'll have to bring it to Geek Squad. I did find out that my computer is still under warranty. But, I'm in school and that seems like so much of a hassle.
