Sound trouble with iPhone 6 and LifeProof Nuud Case

Every time I try and talk on the phone after about 5-10 seconds the phone starts echoing/whistling to the other party I'm speaking with. It's a really loud noise and lasts for about 20 seconds but once it stops they can barely hear me unless I switch to speaker. I have gotten a new case with the same issue and even a new phone and the issue has continued. Any ideas?

That doesn't sound like a case issue.
Typically people that have problems with lifeproof mic quality can solve them simply by cleaning/washing the membrane. Its a little hole, and if it gets caked with pocket lint/dirt, its going to impede sound transmission. If its working on speaker, your mic is probably working fine. If its a ear speaker issue, why does it interfere with the other person?
Have you tried contacting Lifeproof? They're usually pretty helpful.
