Upgraded my tv finally to a series 6, 60 inch Samsung. The built in speakers don't do the tv justice. Want to get a contained system what y'all got?

Yamaha YAS-106 sound bar. Fairly inexpensive and it's a Yamaha.

seems like a solid unit for the price. Wonder how the directional built in subs sound compared to my stand alone floor sub?

No way they can compare with a standalone sub

I like my Klipsch.

Side note: are pretty much all of them optical, or do some run off HDMI?

Some have both with multiple hdmi. My Vizio just has optical and digital audio, but it was cheap. Just image search the model(s) you are interested in.

I have the 44" or 45" 5.1 Vizio soundbar that's pictured and I love it. Great price point, quality sound, looks good, and if you have a Vizio tv you can use their special HDMI input to connect the two. The bluetooth connection with my phone having weak range is my only complaint.
