So, have we established what music streaming service trumps the rest?

I'm currently using Spotify with my free trial of Apple Music. I also have Prime so I use Amazon Music. It kinda sucks right now cause I'm going through all 3 listening to different artists that aren't on the others.

Amazon has Hootie, but Spotify and Apple don't. Apple has Taylor Swift, but Amazon and Spofity don't. Apple doesn't let me create playlists with the streaming service (it did at first, but then Apple deleted it the next day).

What are you guys doing?

You add play lists on apple music. I just did it.

I've never paid for a music streaming service so I can't compare spotify but Apple music is great. I'm going to go ahead and keep it at 15 a month for the family.

Overall, it's Google Music.
With Spotify a close #2.

I like Amazon, but including albums in your library through search requires the website not the player. It's ridiculous.

I would assume Apple Music is up there if you have an Apple ecosystem, which I don't, so it doesn't interest me.

To me Spotify is clearly #1. Google has caught up a lot and I wouldn't argue with someone who preferred it.

But Spotify initially at least had the best interface, was the easiest to use and organize, had more offerings than Google as far as apps/desktop apps, and had, for all meaningful purposes as much music as anyone.

Does Google have a standalone player for Mac? Or is it still Chrome-based?

Apple fricked up IMO by not pulling it out of iTunes, which most people despise, at launch. I'm sure it's a good service, though.

I would say the 3 month Apple music free trial trumps the rest. Once you have to start paying for it though it loses a little luster.

No such thing. Everyone has their favorite, and that is a GOOD thing.

The more competition the better.

Google Music is what I use, been happy with the premium service, but have used it to host my own music for free since day one.

Still waiting for somebody to explain to me what's so great about Spotify and what it does that Rhapsody didn't do for the last 8 years.

Amazon is the only "free" offering that lets you download to your mobile device. Until low end data plans at least double, they deserve to be in the discussion. 2 years from now though they won't really have a reason to exist.

And there really isn't a clear cut superior in this discussion. Everyone's selling the same thing like a Caribbean flea market.

prime is not free, plus you can do that with google music for free and they give you 50,000 songs

Spotify premium is the best IMO.

The only Artist that Spotify doesn't have that I care about is The Beatles, but I uploaded all their music to my computer.

Nobody buys Prime for Music, so if you're using it for that, it is free. Most people buy Prime because the shipping pays for itself. Prime Video is comparable to NetFlix, so even without the shipping benefit you're paying $8.25 for a NetFlix competitor. You wan't to put free in quotes fine, but for people that access Prime Music, they didn't pay for it, it's just a useful (for now) perk.

That 50,000 songs is your own music. That's certainly a nice feature for free, but it's not the same as downloading songs you've never "owned". You have to pay for the ability to download songs, or play songs on demand and without ads LINK Just like all the other music services in the flea market.

So....does anyone use the pin or cache feature in google music?

Are there limits/reasons not to?

Our house has no internet service...so this would be a huge advantage.

I've really enjoyed Apple Music so far. I wish the layout and UI were a little more well thought out, but I might be being picky.

The reason it exists is to have music available when you have no internet.

Example... Going on a flight where you have to be in airplane mode.
