I have a Apple TV 4 and I see sling TV is on there now. I really want playstation vue but who knows how long until it is available on the App Store. I would like to get sling TV since they have alot more channels like E! and bravo now so my wife will be happy but I'm not sold on their picture quality. Every video on YouTube I seen their picture quality looks like crap. With all the new updates they have done has the picture quality improved any?

Don't know about now but it wasn't very good last football season. It was good enough that I didn't feel the need to go back to cable but it wasn't great.

I did the 7 day trial of Vue a couple of months ago and the quality blows Sling out of the water.

Having said that, I'll be interested to see if they still have the same quality with a much larger customer base.

I know, doesn't answer your question. The answer to your question is

1.Get device that has Vue
2.Profit

I don't mind the quality, really depends on what kind of internet speeds you get and what device you are using.

I used an Xbox one at first and the quaLity wasn't there. Switched over to a fire TV and it got significantly better.

I had a Roku3, a roku stick, and my Sony Androidtv, and i didn't think the picture quality was bad.
I have Vue now and i don't notice a difference.

Sling just need to find a way to let you watch more than 1 stream, and do that with the ESPN lineup, not the shitty Fox lineup. I don't even care about the DVR aspect of it b/c of Kodi.
I'd consider switching back to sling if they'd allow multistreams with ESPN and have the credentials to log into the Disney and Nick apps for the kids.

I got an email from them yesterday saying to come back and we'll throw in BET and some other BET channels for free. I've been trying to find a way to hide that channel and a few other altogether from my Vue lineup.

i've had sling on a firetv since its inception, and it's always been clear HD. some of the ESPNs are highly compressed-looking, but still HD. sling uses about 4 mbps for HD.

I had Sling for a while but it just kept locking up every so often and it wouldn't "click" into HD. It was like standard def TV quality back in the 90's.

And you have crappy internet and/or use a fire stick 30 feet from your router.

Well I have had sling and vue. I have Roku's hard wired, some not, and a Roku stick that is about 30 feet from the router. 100mb internet.

Sling has always been great HD on all the devices but the stick. And it only occasionally sucks on the stick. Vue has been the same exact way, sucking occasionally on the stick.

I have a very hard time believing you have issues with sling with a hard wired fire TV.

Agree. My experience is exactly like yours. Great quality on my Roku 3, quality drops now and then on Roku stick. I run both over my wireless network with 50 mps.

Meh, 25mb wireless & wired. It was alright on the wired, but still ran into the same issues. Just stating my experience with Sling. Everything else works just fine. Even 4K YouTube videos, etc.

Not really. I got the ATV4 this weekend hoping it would improve from the firestick. it launches cleaner and the UI is lightyears better but it would still pixelate and freeze on me. Better than the firestick but still severely lacking. The eyeroll i got from the wife when i asked her to stop checking facebook on her phone because it was messing up the TV was pretty epic.

I have not hard wired the router to the ATV yet and plan to do that tonight to see if it improves.

Still not bad enough to make me go back to cable but they have some serious issues. They were first to market but if Vue ever comes to the App store or better yet when Apple rolls out their streaming TV app i think Sling is toast.

ETA: better than the firestick but still not very good.
