Screen issues on my Acer laptop

I have had an Acer laptop for about 4 years. Recently, the screen sometimes "rolls" for a few seconds and then stops and it's fine. Then it will do it again for another few seconds. The computer has no other issues. I googled some other boards and they say it's a battery issue. Thoughts?

Just trying to decide if I should start shopping for a new laptop, or just replace the battery.
