Repetitive Outlook error

I keep getting this popup while using my desktop-
I'm still able to send and receive emails through Outlook, so I'm not sure why this keeps popping up. It never used to do this, and sometimes it will go several days without issue and some days, like today, it shows up every few minutes regardless of what I'm doing on my computer.
I'm on Cox in Baton Rouge. Using Outlook 2016 (Office 365 subscriber). Fully updated Windows.
Any suggestions?

Closing and reopening Outlook sometimes helps, but it's a Cox problem. For example, I've gone a day without email, getting that login dialog every couple of hours, only to receive 20 emails all at once after closing/reopening. I use POP, not IMAP like you're using. I also use Outlook for a couple of gmail accounts, and they never do this.

You're welcome. It's been an intermittent problem as long as I can remember. I use Outlook 2013.
BTW, did you get the Cox email earlier this month about the new email experience, calendar app, etc? It also promised, "If you use a POP/IMAP client (e.g. Outlook, Mac Mail or other mail apps), you'll also experience faster, more reliable service automatically." Uh, nope, not yet.

quote:Yeah, I vaguely recall something about that. I knew it was bullshite before I finished the first sentence and figured the rest of the email was just fluff to grease me up for another price hike.

Cox's new email system sucks. If you have to use webmail, the search function is horrible. I can search for an email that actually shows in the list and it says "none found".
Oh, but they are aware of the issue and have been working on it. Shouldn't a basic feature like the search function be a standard item tested and debugged long before it is installed in the system?

I'm a Cox customer as well and I still use my old Bellsouth account with Outlook (the landline is still active), every now and then this comes up. I just keep clicking OK and eventually it goes away.
