recording live streaming video

No longer have cable service and have been doing fine with streaming everything. I knew football season would be the true test to see if it meets my needs. I've read about some capture software that can be used to record what's playing on your computer, but haven't tested any of it. Looking for options to be able to record LSU game this weekend so I can watch it when I get home.
tl, dr:
will be out during LSU game. Any way to record CBS stream or stream recorded version when I get home?

you can record anything playing on your computer screen with a program called xsplit. you don't even need the paid version.
just get xsplit and then do a screen region capture or go to add source and select screen capture.. and line it up to fit the exact window or screen you are capturing.. then on the preview screen of what you just selected you will see it show up on the xsplit.. just expand it out to full screen.. covering the entire area..
now under the broadcast tab just select local recording..
and it will record to your xsplit video folder under your videos folder..
you can change the settings and stuff along the way if you need to.. you can check on youtube how to broadcast on xsplit for more info..
just start testing it out ahead of time.. i actually like the older versions of xsplit because you can actually hide the preview screen once you selected the region.. which makes it easier on your system. also, be sure to either minimize xsplit or move it out of your selected area of recording or else it will be in your recording..

thanks for the information. I have a ustvnow account and tested the "free dvr" option...not bad but it doesn't do HD recording...think you get 4hrs of storage with the free accounts...
