My old Sony died.

It was a 5:1. Speakers still sound great so I don't need to replace those.

Would prefer a multi channel unit so a could play my inside/surround speakers simultaneously with my deck/pool speakers.

Bluetooth is a must.

Thanks bass.

I haven't really thought about one.

Nothing extravagant but a nice unit I can blow the cob webs off with from time to time.

I'm a firm believer that the vast majority of AVRs sound the same, especially at the price point where most people are looking. So, look for the cheapest well reviewed AVR you can find that has the options you need (room correction, Atmos, powered zones, etc).

What speakers do you have? No offense but the receiver doesn't matter if the speakers are subpar. Speakers are much more important than the receiver. Denon. Marantz. Pioneer Elite. Etc. all solid options.

Fair statement. Especially to the average consumer.
