RCA to Speaker wire adapter question

I'm looking to add some speakers to a record player. The record player has two male RCA cables coming from it. Would I be able to go from that to an adapter with speaker wire? Or do I need a receiver to power the speakers? TIA
Is this what I would need?

you need an amp(or receiver). what you posted is used to drive an amp if your radio only has speaker outputs and not rca outputs. for instance if you want to add some jam in your car when the factory radio does not have any rca ouputs.

It doesn't work that way. The RCA jacks are for the left and right audio outputs. They are NOT speaker outputs.
You need more than just an amp. You either need a receiver or a preamp with a phono input and an amp to power the speakers.
