Pulling data off of a hard drive

So my wife's laptop fried a while back and will not turn on. I'm trying to get the music off of it, about 1500 songs.
I put the hard drive in my laptop and I see all of her files, but the PC will not recognize an SD card, Flash drive, or DVD with her Drive in my PC. it recognizes all of those storage devices with my HD in there.
What are my other options for retrieving her music? I was able to email the important docs to her. cant do that with 1500 songs...or i dont want to.

Buy a USB to SATA Adapter and plug the drive in just like a flash drive.

like the man said
just pull out the old drive plug that connector to it
and to a working computer..voila!
there might be a few corrupted files, but most of your junk should be there
connect a 2nd drive, just copy or cut/move the files to it!

Also you may get an error trying to move any data saying something like you don't own it which wont allow you to move it. In this case you'll need to "take ownership"
This happened to me and the same situation you are in.
I used a GUI along the lines of this one LINK (give it a read) then was able to move everything i need.
