I would pass on this model, unless a side TV. For a 4K, it is quite poor with some serious corners cut to get that price point per reviews including no 4K Color mode via HDMI which apparently severely hinders this display. Only the 6500 series and above have 4K Colors.

I've been out of the TV market for at least 5 years. Any recommendations for a 50"-60" in the $500-$750 range? Moving into a first house with the fiancee and need something for the living room.

1080p or 4K?

I would recommend 1080p at that price point, your good 60" 4K's are going to start at $1200+.

I would stay with Samsung, LG, Sony, Sharp Aquos...and grab a 55" or 60" 1080p. You can decide if you want Smart TV features or not and that will reflect on price as well.

Samsung J6200 is $697 on Amazon.

I bought this TV yesterday. It has a clear purple dot in the middle of the screen on dark pictures. Will be returning today and getting a M55-C2 instead.

Bought this tv on Sunday and it is very nice. Changed the calibrations for the picture quality and it looks really good in brightly lit living room

Not at home and don't know exact calibration me but main things was lowered the backlight setting to under 10. Makes picture look way more realistic

Do you have any blue/purple dots on yours? Reading online, it appears to be a common complaint. Thats why mine is being returned.

The TV is great other than that. I was actually impressed with the sound too.
