Prompt Randomly Disappears

Hello,
I recently got a new computer. The prompt disappears randomly when typing....very often. To type again i have to use my mouse to click where the prompt should be, then resume typing. Happens often. Very annoying.
Any suggestions on how to fix? Or what settings to change?

Is it a laptop? Maybe you're inadvertently touching the touchpad area while typing.
You could try temporarily disabling the touchpad and see if it still occurs.

it is a laptop but i'm currently using a USB keyboard and not anywhere near the mouse pad.
Even if i'm just using the laptop and avoiding the mouse pad on the laptop it still does it.

In the Mouse Properties, there is a 'Hide pointer while typing' option.
