So about 2 days ago we had a power surge at the house. Tv is plugged into a surge protector. HDMI ports are not picking up anything. Can't swap tv's with the kids living room because we have misplaced the TV base.
So...can we fix it or just scrap it and buy a new

Same happened to one of mine. Still using it 2 years later with component input.

Lightning took out my dad's HDMIs on his 52" Sony. Bought a used board w 1 year warranty on ebay for $25-30. Installed board in under 20 minutes. Took longer to take if off the wall and put it back up.
If you can operate a screwdriver you can swap out the board. All the plugs were different on the board so you can't hook them up wrong.

sometimes if it has side inputs its on a separate board than the one on the back, I have a samsung that did this.

This one is a LG. The other inputs are not working as well. May look into replacing them.
