still having trouble, CAD. excluded, and looked like it excluded. Included and looked like it did but it never showed up under lights. WTF

do they sell smart fan switches that can control the fan speed at the switch as well as in the app?

that should have worked 
how long is the green light coming on? it should be solid for 1-2 seconds, not a 1/2 second flash.
try excluding it (long green light on hub) then going in and adding it as a generic zwave switch instead of going through inclusion mode and see what happens.

well that should do it then.
are you 100% sure a generic 'switch' didn't appear in your lights area afterward?
it doesn't tell you anything..you'll just notice a new light switch on your 'lights' tab in the app that wasn't there before.

No not 100%. there is a switch there that i though was something else..... but maybe it is that one. ill have to check when i get home.
ETA: i see a random switch in my light section that idk what it is too. Im guessing this is it. I hope it is at least.

yea i have that feeling. I saw it last night but subconsciously thought it went to another light i had set up. Just now when i was sitting on the Thinking Throne i saw that switch and noticed all my other bulbs were named "GE LINK Bulb" not "LIGHT BULB"

long-press it and when the switch details come up you'll see the nice little GE logo.

apparently my GE fan control does this already. i've always adjusted the speed on the app itself and not at the wall. Learned something new today.

OTOH they are working very well these days..seldom does the app 'lose them' but i dont need this shite tied to a running app on a phone i may or may not even have nearby.
