Yes you can. Just install localcast and hit "custom" after selecting such quality you want.

Looks pretty awesome if the rumors are true..fire tv killer staying at $35!
I don't see this at all. Fire TV doesn't require another device streaming to it and comes with a remote. I also have Kodi loaded directly onto my Fire Stick.
AC band isn't all that great. The current N band can carry more bandwidth than 99% of people have coming into their homes.

Y'all keep saying this yet the ac router is the best thing I've bought. All my mobile devices have ac which is the majority of what I use and the difference is night and day.
What doesn't ship with ac chips these days?

I used to use showbox but it doesn't really work well anymore. How well does cartoon hd work for you? Any drawbacks?
Posted on 9/25/15 at 2:11 pm to LSU Tiger 216
yep, showbox is pretty much dead to me and has been for a couple months.
flawless so far.
install cartoon HD
install localcast
when you find a movie or tv show, click highest quality stream (typically 720p), then click CUSTOM
then it asks you what you want to use to view it, select localcast.
then select the casting device from the list
then you get the option to go to 'opensubtitles.org' and select subtitles for your show.
i usually do that because we often only get to watch a movie after the kids are down and we miss dialog with the TV down.
the *only* drawback is sometimes you might have to pick from 5-10 available subtitles in the list to find the one that syncs correctly. usually its the one that matches the name of the stream; something like "blah720pRIP".
i usually select the subtitle most downloaded and 99% of the time that is the correct one.
other than that..no problems.
eta i NEVER get stutter with cartoon HD
eta2: sometimes it says '480p' is the highest quality option but when you open it, its actually HD
eta3: every once in awhile cartoon HD will give me the 'retry' box but more often than not, my router hiccuped or something. its never been for more than a few seconds.

I downloaded it. It looks nice, not sure if there is as much selection but it appears to be reliable.

bump for minor update:
just realized the new chromecast handles gapless audio perfectly.
still not sure what the deal is on the original chromecast but its gotten better at least but still a noticeable 'hiccup' between tracks which sucks for albums with one long track.
c'mon google. its 2015.

Can you airplay watchESPN and other tv streaming services to it from an iPhone, or will it be blocked?
I know watchESPN is on it, but I'm speaking about the apps that aren't on the apple tv

eta i should point out i also mirror my comcast x1 app to one of my TVs and that includes every channel, dvr shows, etc. but the mirroring isnt as robust as true 'casting' and will run your battery down on your phone in 3 or so hours.
