Anyone done this before? Remotes stopped working and this appears to be a problem with Philips tv's. The sensor board is $12 online, so this would be a more suitable option than buying a new TV.

Damn, I have one. Didn't realize there is a fix. What do I need to change?

BTW, that thing is more like a heater than a tv! Boys play Xbox on it and that room is easily 5 degrees higher than the house

What kind of TV? Plasma or CCFL LCD? The newer LED LCDs don't put out much heat, which along with being thinner are their major virtues. Xbox and boys themselves are other sources.

Hmm- I've got one like this as well. Perhaps I should replace the sensor. Where did you see the part?

Sorry for not responding. The IR sensor is generally located inside the TV, and requires the TV housing to be removed. I have read online that sometimes the IR sensor (or whole board) is soldered in, which will require added tools and whatnot.

I haven't decided on what to do quite yet about my TV. When I search for the part online I run into the problem of it being sold out. Since the TV is from 2008/2009 I realize that finding a part will not be super easy.
