So my 2 external hard drives are not working - getting error messages and my IT department did not transfer my music to my new laptop.

I have much of it on my phone through Itunes, but I'm afraid to sync it will itunes and lose all the music on my phone.

Any help?

pay for an iTunes Match account.

I think it's $25 for a year. The music you have on your iPhone will sync across any newly authorized computer.

It's the easiest way although the it might not be the cheapest.

I know I'd pay $25 to keep from losing all of my music.

Have you tried your external drives on a different computer?

Are you sure match works Phone > Cloud? I thought it only worked Computer > Cloud.

Just get Apple Music for $10 a month and get every song ever on all devices

ETA: Or have your IT department upload the music from the external hard drives, they should be able to fix it easily.

install google play music.

the end. you can 'sync' up to like 40,000 songs for free.

FREE

and access them from literally any device in the world with access to the internet at any time.

eta if you recover your hard drive, d/l the little google music utility and point it to the music folder.

give it a day or so and all your music will be there..on your phone, your PCs, your tablets, your smart tv, etc.

never lose another song.

Thanks.

Is there anyway to upload the songs from the device (iphone 6) to Google Play Music?

Since my songs are not on my new hard drive, itunes isn't recognizing them. They are not on my computer at all.

can you not copy the songs off to your hard drive from your phone?

asking in all honesty, i just assume you can mount your iphone like a usb drive (thats what i do with android) and look for the DCIM folder or something where all the music files are.

My hard drive does not contain any songs any longer.

Iphone doesn't work like that. When you plug in your phone to your CPU and you go to your Iphone folders, only pictures can be viewed. MP3's do not show up. They must be buried in a root folder or somewhere else that cant be accessed.
