I use my desktop daily and put it to sleep when not in use. yesterday I decided to shut it down so it could install windows updates. I started the computer this morning and all I get is a black screen. the "welcome" loading screen is also up there for about 10 seconds longer than usual when its loading up to the desktop, but all i get is a black screen.
ctrl+alt+delete function still works, which lets me pull up the task manager, log off, etc. If I decide to log off the actual desktop screen will appear for a couple of seconds before it logs out.
I have tried restarting and shutting down/powering up the pc multiple times with no luck.
Any ideas?

I got my home screen to pop up using the first method i found here LINK
but I have to do this every time I log off, restart, etc to get desktop to come up.
Uninstalled all the recent windows updates and still getting black screen on startup. I rechecked installed windows updates and there is one microsoft update that still remains installed. I've uninstalled and restarted the computer 3 times and this update still remains. I'm assuming this update that will not uninstall is causing the problem.
