Laptop screen flicker when on battery

I've got a Lenovo y40-80 laptop thats worked really well for me since I bought it up until recently when I posted another thread about the trackpad acting wonky. It is still under warranty until July.
Lately I've been plagued with the screen flickering when under battery power. It works perfectly when its plugged into AC power.
It is really noticeable when the battery percentage drops to 75% or lower.
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling both Intel and AMD graphics drivers from Lenovo and the official ones from the Intel and AMD websites. No difference.
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling Lenovo power management drivers, no difference.
I made sure that the power modes for when under battery are set to maximum battery life and when under AC power, under max performance.
The screen flickering occurs under battery regardless if I am internet surfing, streaming, or gaming. I have not been able to determine the root cause.
Anyone have any suggestions? I think with both the trackpad and screen acting screwy, its probably a hardware issue and I need to take it in for service.
