My service with cox is horrible. At peak hours, my internet is basically unusable. I'm out of city limits (off ambassador extension) so can't get LUS and ATT doesn't offer DSL or uverse. I'm fricked ain't I?

You could probably get Hughs net or exceed sat internet.. But it's hit and miss.. So you're probably better sticking with cox.

I'm in the same boat as you. Call cox and demand a refund until you get the speed you are paying for. I got months of free internet until they fixed the problem. South Lafayette is growing fast and the infrastructure they have in place is being overwhelmed.

Exactly the problem I'm having... I've been getting free internet since July but it'd be nice to be able to use it whenever I pleased. The technician told me my area is just overloaded.

I thought the city recently agreed to run it outside the city limits, specifically down the major roads in the south part of the parish?

The infrastructure can't handle the new population in the area.. That's basically what technician told me. I call them 3-4 times a week...

Makes you wonder why they recently doubled Internet speeds. For free
