Avoid the temptation to add a ton of channels to your lineup. Like cable, most of the channels are crap. Learn how to remove channels as well as add them.
Avoid the temptation to rent/buy movies or sign up for paid subscriptions. You don't want to defeat the purpose of cutting the cord. Most of the content will eventually be available for free so wait for it--there's plenty to watch in the meantime.

99% of my viewing is on these channels. I also like the TuneIn channel for internet radio.
