iTunes match won't work on my library

Subscribed to iTunes Match last week. Have tried it several times but it never gets past step 1 and after a while will just stop running. Any suggestions?

First things first. Did you subscribe to Apple Music or iTunes Match?
How many songs do you have?
Have you tried rebooting and only opening iTunes?
