You get what you pay for. I imagine with only 5-7 employees your pay and benefits can't compete with corporations. I'd target younger or fresh out of college kids that don't know anybetter and still have a decent work ethic.

While I have no input on a company, I assume you're looking for managed services?

You'll need to probably give more info on what ya'll need done

Who is your current IT Company?

I posed this same question to the OT a year ago and I got a great recommendation for Essential Solutions. Ask for Bob Whte. Very affordable and super efficient.

he uses an outsourced company. he's not paying a full service IT person a year round salary and benefits for an office that small.

No No and No again.

My old company tried this and the kids schedules never coincided with us needing shite fixed. A company needs people on demand. If your server crashes, do you want some IT student saying, oh man i can't get to that for a couple of days because i have class and intramural softball the next night?

Experience matters. Most of the 'fresh out of college' group can't do more than remove viruses and install printers.

The students that you would hire are almost graduates so most are only working on a senior project at that point. Plus You can hire them for cheap.

I hate outsourcing overseas. The communication barrier is a bitch as well as time conflicts

then when they leave the area to work on something else, you have to find another willing grad student and they may not pick up on everything that was set up a certain way and why. The one thing i have learned in moderately dealing as a fill in "IT Guy" for my old company along with my actual job, is that continuity can not be understated for price.

Offer them a job...

Anything after that comes down on the company for retaining employees
