Issues with router speeds

So recently upgraded to a 100mb/s speed. When directly wired into the router I do indeed get around 100mb/s
But when connecting wirelessly I only get ~20-30mb/s.
What gives?

Two parts of this equation..
(1) What equipment are you connecting
(a) what speed is it looking for
(2) What router are you connecting to
(a) what is the max speed it can send to (1,a)
