i.e. Using personal hotspot with unlimited data to power my PS4 and computer over purchasing wifi through cable company.

Speed is much better through my phone FWIW

Just depends on how much data you use. As no wireless carrier actually has true unlimited data. Everyone throttles around 22gb a month. Plus most throttle hotspot at 10gb or less.

If you'll be playing multiplayer a lot I wouldn't, as your ping times are generally pretty horrible over a mobile network.

It's 30 MBS through my phone. My internet plan right now is for 6 MBS and I think that I'm paying way too much for that much less paying more to get a better plan.

Your ping times will be shite. 6mb is more than enough for online gaming.

Playing on a hotspot will hurt you.
