For $300, no other phone comes close to what the OnePlus One offers. Not only does it look and feel like a premium device, but it also comes with specs similar to what you'd find in a flagship smartphone. If you want a high-end phone on a budget, look no further.

OnePlus One review: a $300 smartphone has never looked so good
Can't believe we haven't had a OnePlus One thread on here yet. This is the ultimate geek phone. 5.5" screen, 401 ppi, Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB RAM, 3100 mAhr battery....I mean spec of spec, this is the best phone on the market currently. And it is only $300 for the 16 GB model and $349 for 64GB. It is totally unlocked, works on any carrier in the world, and runs Cyanogen Mod out of the box.

What upgrade? This is carrier unlocked. You buy directly from the company. No contract required....yes, the $300 is the no contract price.

That was a marketing stunt to generate interest and also to buy themselves time while they ramp up their production to full capacity. You will be able to buy this without any invite in the next few of months.

Oh wow. Any local places sell this where I can check it out? Had to buy the nexus 5 online for the gf and never got to check it out before hand because no one carries it.
Who makes this phone?

Unfortunately this phone is only sold online and won't to able to check it out in person anywhere. It is made by a Taiwanese startup. It will be a few months before you can buy from them directly. You should check out the review videos of this phone on YouTube.

You mean the phone that was hyped like a flagship that has been delayed so many times everyone has lost interest? The phone whose own slogan has become a running joke on tech sites? The phone that needed a invite for a right to purchase a first release of a device?
The device that promised a oneplus to someone who smashed their device (in a terribly stupid promo) and sent the guy an empty box for his compliance?
I'll go with ANYTHING but the Oneplus One. Thanks.

Yep. And they lied their arse off about the size of the phone. That bitch is a poster child for phablets. Huge arse phone.

No, thanks. That's really not as good a deal as you think & what do you do when something goes south? I'll stick with premium phones from known reliable companies.

They also allowed them to donate their phone to charity as opposed to smashing it. And the guy that got the empty box, it was lost in transit or the postman stole the phone. OnePlus sent him another one.
I would love to be able to buy an unlocked phone with these specs for $300. Who knows if they will ever make it out of the invite stage. OnePlus has a ton of ties to OPPO, so hopefully it will.

I don't know about that, but it succeeding could have a pretty important impact on the Smart Phone market. The Wireless carriers are trying to shift away from subsidized phones. With that being the case, "Flagship phones" costing $300 rather than $600 would be nice.

They only added that option because of the backlash they received. Also reviews I've seen have said that CM doesn't run that well on the device.

delayed...again
Exactly. I had just read about the latest delay then the next thing I saw was this thread.
It had potential but many who were going to get this device have already pulled the trigger on something else. People who are ready for a new device will only wait so long.
