Is it possible to name a group on an Android group text message?

I have four different projects going on in school right now, so I have four different groups of people I'm working with. We're constantly sending shite, so the messages go relatively quickly, and I have to scroll up every time I open a message to see what project it is about. I've already sent stuff to the wrong group twice because all I see is a bunch of phone numbers.
Is there any way to name these groups so when I get a message it says "group 1" or whatever? I'm on Lollipop using the stock messaging app

I don't feel like dealing with with that since we all have each other's numbers already. I only care to have two or three of the dude's numbers anyway. Not gonna be dealing with most of them again before I graduate

I just got Textra. I'm rooted with Adaway, so hopefully that stops the ads. Naming the group was easy as hell. Now I know what's going on
