If I install ipVanish through my netgear router, would I need to install it on my fireTV or roku or anywhere else that uses my wireless?
I cant watch Astros games on MLB due to blackout and I would like to add it for more protection. Any help appreciated.

I installed mine on Fire Tv and watched blacked out lsu baseball last week. You could just install it like that. Just turn it on when you want it.

I prefer to use my VPN on demand as running the VPN globally has more downside than benefit imo.
Whole home network VPN will slow down your enternal connection a bit and will possibly be more unreliable as you are dependent on the VPN provider to maintain a solid connection for you constantly.
Also not all consumer routers can function as a VPN server (VPN client is more likely) so make sure your router can handle VPN server if you decide to do this.

So what is the point of using vpn for a firestick so nobody can see that you are using kodi or something?

So your ISP cant see you are streaming
You can get access to streams that are blocked by the country you are in

Oh ok I'm still learning all this as I go. i saw where people are being arrested in the U.K. for selling preloaded kodi boxes and it is illegal in Canada now.

A firestick is not preloaded. People are selling them preloaded and they can get in trouble. You are good. Stream away.
