Just upgraded iPads and intend to use it on-farm for record keeping, equipment monitoring, etc. and trying to figure out what all I need.

Don’t want something as permanent as a drill down, so I’m looking at the Ram X-Grip cup holder. Does anyone have one of these?

Like I said above, it’s going in a truck that spends a lot of time on the farm on dirt and gravel, so I don’t want it bouncing all over the cab. Is it stable in the cup holder? To get real specific, I drive an F-150 that has a center console shifter with two cup holders, like so:

Also looking at keyboards. Does anyone have experience with wireless keyboards? Will that be a pain in the arse trying to keep it connected? Or, how sturdy is the magic keyboard? If I can mount the iPad and then just have a keyboard that’s good and sturdy that just flips down, that would be a good option, but I’ve never actually seen one. Looks like a better option than the Smart Keyboard, which I currently have.

Looking at the picture of the mount though, I’m not sure if any attachable keyboard will work worth a damn with the iPad still being in the mount.

I'm curious as to why not just a laptop?

I have an iPad with LTE coverage and apps that allow me to remote access and view different pieces of equipment. I also cloud sync with a computer in my office for the record keeping and Excel

Most any Bluetooth keyboard will work fine. You may want to look and see if there is one with a trackpad if you want to use a mouse as well. I don’t have any specific recommendations, other than maybe starting with the something like the Logitech K380 or K480 would just be $30-40 and see if that’s too small or the ergonomics. I use an older version with my old iPad years ago to take notes during school. If you want something more like a laptop, I would look at the brydge keyboard case.

I have the magic keyboard folio thing for an IPad Pro. It works well except every now and then it doesn’t connect. Not sure how it work in that mount.

I have the magic keyboard folio thing and it works great for me. I also use the apple pencil quite a bit and I really like it as well.

The keyboards are not wireless though, at least mine isn't. It attaches magnetically to the ipad and you would have to remove it from the holder to use it, not sure if that is your intention.
